A GOAL from Elle Elkins was not enough to prevent defeat for Cherries’ women, away at Dorking Wanderers.
In their latest pre-season friendly, Steve Cuss’s side were beaten 2-1 at Meadowbank.
Boss Cuss told Cherries’ website: “We were a bit disappointed with the outcome. We were disappointed in the way we played both with and without the ball.
“We were pleased that it was a good challenge because we'll come across that a lot in the season, so there were lots of learning parts. We'll take a lot away and we'll improve.”
Cherries get their National League season underway at Selsey on August 20.
Cuss added: “We're happy with where we are in terms of pre-season.
“We're going into a three day camp down in Devon and it gives us areas to focus on, so we'll look forward to that.”
