ANDONI Iraola’s first game in the dugout as Cherries head coach ended with a 4-0 victory over Hibernian in Marbella.

Cherries were the dominant force throughout against the side who finished fifth in the Scottish Premiership last season.

A brilliant early David Brooks strike got the ball rolling, before Jaidon Anthony soon doubled the lead.

Philip Billing then completed the scoring, with a well-taken brace.

Iraola named Irish duo Mark Travers and Gavin Kilkenny in his first starting XI, youngster Ben Greenwood also included, with Adam Smith captaining the side.

A number of first-team players, including Lloyd Kelly, Marcus Tavernier and Dominic Solanke, were not involved in the fixture.

The game was split into three 30-minute periods, due to the sweltering heat in southern Spain.

Cherries got off to a scintillating start. Kieffer Moore, leading the line, played a key role in his side moving 2-0 ahead inside 13 minutes.

The deadlock was broken in style. Moore brought the ball down before picking out Wales teammate Brooks, who fired a superb effort into the top corner from more than 20 yards.

Moore picked out Ryan Christie soon after, who saw his shot deflected just wide, before the lead was doubled.

The towering striker clipped a cross in for Christie, who turned it on to Anthony, free in the box. The winger picked his spot, his shot nestling in off the post.

Cherries were given all the time and space they wanted, continuing to fly forwards against a struggling Hibs side. Christie saw two shots blocked, the second impressively by defender Rocky Bushiri.

Lee Johnson’s men created one good opening before the first third was concluded, Elie Youan winning the ball on the left wing and driving forward before cutting inside and forcing a good parry from Travers.

Iraola made just one change after the first break, Darren Randolph coming on in goal for his first outing since joining Cherries in January.

Brooks was at the heart of Cherries’ chances during the second period, finding the net before the flag was raised for offside, and then turning provider.

The 26-year-old threaded a ball through for Christie, who picked out Anthony. But this time the winger was denied, has shot excellently tipped onto the post from close range by goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott.

Justin Kluivert was introduced for his first minutes in a Cherries shirt following his summer move from Roma, replacing the impressive Anthony on the left wing. James Hill, who spent last season on loan at Hibs’ Edinburgh rivals Hearts, also came on.

Iraola was then forced into another change, Smith limping off with a leg injury and replaced by Illia Zabarnyi, with Hill shifting across to right-back.

Five more changes were made as the game moved into the final 30 minutes.

Hibs had the first chance after the restart, the ball cut back for Jake Doyle-Hayes on the edge of the box, who saw his shot blocked.

Kluivert, now playing as the central striker, teed up fellow sub Billing to make it 3-0 on 67 minutes, slotting high into the net.

The Dutchman should have had another assist to his name less than a minute later, finding Dango Ouattara unmarked in the box, but he wasted the opportunity.

Doyle-Hayes again tried his luck soon after at the other end, this time coming agonisingly close with his long-range strike coming back off the crossbar as Cherries preserved their clean sheet.

Billing then rounded off the scoring late on, sweeping in left-footed for his second goal of the evening.
