THE TRANSFER window has officially opened causing rumours to gather more speed.

Cherries have been linked with multiple wingers prior to the window opening, and it appears they are narrowing in on a specific target.

That would be Roma’s Justin Kluivert, the son of former Barcelona and Ajax star Patrick Kluivert.

The Daily Echo understands that Cherries are in negotiations with Roma over a potential permanent transfer to Vitality Stadium.

Kluivert represents a third Roma player Cherries have attempted to sign, having pursued Nicolo Zaniolo in January whilst also signing left-back Matias Vina on an initial loan.

Cherries decided not to take up the clause agreed when they brought Vina to Dorset, instead hoping to negotiate a smaller fee than the reported £12.9million previously settled upon.

Despite bringing in players of the same mould in January, Cherries certainly are keen on wingers.

Last week January target Nicolas Jackson was again linked to another move, Cherries supposedly reigniting their interest.

Now it appears free-spending Chelsea are credited with an interest, the Evening Standard reporting that new boss Mauricio Pochettino is a fan of the Senegalese winger.

The original deal between Jackson and Cherries broke down in the winter transfer window due to concerns over a hamstring injury.

Reports from different countries have linked the club to Gonzala Plata, Romain Faivre, and Crysencio Summerville as well, all wingers.

Another wideman has been linked this week, with Danish talent Andreas Skov Olsen of Club Brugge reportedly on Cherries’ radar.

That is according to walfoot.be, who claim that Crystal Palace and Burnley also hold an interest in the 23-year-old, who would cost a side £11.1million.

Skov Olsen briefly played under former Cherries manager Scott Parker last season.

Whilst Cherries are in the market for a winger, they will certainly need to strengthen their full-back positions, especially if a new deal for Vina cannot be struck.

Hungarian left-back Milos Kerkez is an option the club have been tracking for some time, with the AZ Alkmaar defender first linked with a move in January.

The Daily Mirror claim Cherries hope to open talks over a deal for the 19-year-old, with a fee of £17million bandied about.

Another teenage talent in the form of Max Johnston has also been linked with Cherries.

Out of contract at current club Motherwell, the right-back was named the Scottish Football Writers’ Association Young Player of the Year last term.

As he is not based in England, Cherries would pay a smaller compensation fee, explaining why clubs all over Europe are linked with the Scotland under-21 international – at least according to the Daily Record.
