CHERRIES boss Gary O’Neil said he was “not sure where” Jefferson Lerma will play his football next season.

The Colombian is understood to have agreed a deal in principle with Crystal Palace, with his contract at Vitality Stadium expiring this summer.

Premier League clubs cannot officially sign pre-contract agreements with England-based players until two weeks after the end of the season.

Cherries would not be due any compensation if Lerma departs, even to a domestic rival.

Asked about Lerma’s future, O’Neil told the Daily Echo: “I'm not sure where Jeff's off to, or if he's off.

“So no confirmation from me on that.

“But in terms of Jefferson Lerma as a person and as a player, he's been incredible this year for me.

“He gave absolutely everything again (on Sunday).

“He was fully committed. So I really appreciate what he's given us this year.”
