JEFFERSON Lerma should be available for Cherries fixture with Manchester United according to boss Gary O’Neil, with the Colombian likely to wear a protective mask.

An incident during Cherries’ defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend saw Eagles defender Joachim Andersen strike Lerma in the nose, leaving it broken.

Last season, combative midfielder Lerma had to wear a mask on international duty following a knock to his nose during a fixture with Swansea.

He could don a mask again in order to feature in Cherries’ two final games of the season, which would see him reach 100 Premier League appearances.

Lerma’s contract expires at the end of the current season, meaning the two matches could be his last in red and black.

Attacker Hamed Traore has returned to training, but will not be risked when Cherries host the Red Devils at Vitality Stadium tomorrow afternoon (kick-off 3pm).

Issuing a team news update, O’Neil shared: “Junior Traore has trained nearly all week fully, but will not be involved tomorrow.

“Hopeful to get him some minutes before we break up next weekend at Everton, so hopefully he'll be around for that one and then apart from that, we're pretty good.

“Jeff may have to wear something just to help protect his nose from the incident last weekend, but yeah, won't affect his availability.”
