SOCIAL Media has reacted to the Premier League manager of the year nominations, with confusion that Cherries boss Gary O'Neil has not been selected.
In his first role as a senior head coach, O'Neil has secured Premier League survival with two games to go.
Initially appointed on an interm basis, the former Portsmouth midfielder impressed enough to earn the gig full time.
Whilst O'Neil himself has previously played down suggestions he should be a front runner for the award, fans and journalists alike believed he was unlucky to miss out on the nominations entirely.
Cherries' official Twitter account even poked fun at the omission, joking that the Premier League had misspelt O'Neil's name.
You misspelt Gary O'Neil 😂 https://t.co/jQxw2LWnzi

Former Cherries boss Eddie Howe is included alongside Arsenal's Mikel Arteta, Aston Villa's Unai Emery, Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, and Fulham's Marco Silva.
Do you think O'Neil should have been nominated?
Ngl, but Gary O’Neil should be on this list. Would say 99.99% of people expected they were relegated when he was appointed! #afcb https://t.co/lMsaTMeyJC

Completely non-bias, where is Gary O’Neil? He took us from bottom of the table and the bookies favourites to go down, to the first team mathematically out of the 7-team relegation scrap 🤦♂️

No bother, he’ll take us to Europe next season 😉#AFCB #UTCIAD #ONeil https://t.co/yQHVAZihC0
Obviously voting for Howe but feel like Garry O’Neil could of been up for selection #NUFC #AFCB pic.twitter.com/epu8ArCwv7

The agenda against #afcb is insane https://t.co/Bc38e6DqJS

Scandalous that Gary O'Neil hasn't made the list after working miracles with a squad deemed too bad to stay up by Scott Parker. Steve Cooper would also be on mine, providing he steers Nott'm Forest to safety, which I reckon he will #afcb #NFFC

I would have potentially had Gary O'Neil as Premier League Manager of the Season and he's not even nominated.#afcb https://t.co/xY8B4jzMhC

How on Earth has Gary O’Neil not been nominated? Done a fantastic job. #afcb https://t.co/hU7FmqU0jy

No Gary O’Neil? #AFCB @afcbournemouth https://t.co/A6g1MnyGGp

I can’t believe Gary O’Neil hasn’t even been nominated for this. Worst squad in the league on paper, took over a mentally-bruised team after Scott Parker left and kept them up. All this in his first management role… #afcb 🍒 https://t.co/FIB8eePGVu

Disgusting and all to managers who could not do what Gary has done apart from Eddie.
