CHRIS Billam-Smith will fight at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, May 27, it has been announced.
Lifelong fan Billam-Smith has long spoken of his dream of fighting at the home of Cherries, with signs around the ground highlighting that the club had applied for a licence to host boxing at Dean Court.
Nicknamed the Gentleman, his opponent on the night will be confirmed at a press conference on Monday, March 28.
Isaac Chamberlain, who Billam-Smith defeated at the Bournemouth International Centre in July 2022, has been confirmed on the undercard, with Mikael Lawal his opponent for the British Cruiserweight Title.
Further fighters and ticketing details for event promoters BOXXER’s first stadium-staged fight will be announced in due course.
BOXXER Founder and CEO, Ben Shalom, said: "We are excited to announce phase one of what is a huge schedule coming up for BOXXER and Sky Sports.
"It's amazing to see new headliners get to the top, new marquee signings start with us and the return of fighters from injury. It really is going to be a ground-breaking few months with career-defining fights and huge nights.
"A special thanks to Joe Ashford-Ellis and AFC Bournemouth for making everything possible for us to stage our first-ever UK stadium show - and a first for the Premier League club too."
The bout precedes Cherries’ final game of the season, when they travel to Everton on Sunday, May 28.
