CHERRIES Women have completed the signing of defender Amber Treweek – sister of current player Jess.

Jess Treweek arrived at Cherries over the summer and has now been joined by her sister Amber, who moves from UNC Charlotte, a university in South Carolina.

Amber Treweek previously played for Cherries at under-14 and under-16 level, before moving to the USA and is now back in red and black.

Speaking to Cherries’ website, she said: "I'm super excited as I've supported this team ever since I was young and it's really great to be a part of a programme that's developing every day.

“It's my childhood team and, with everything that's going on with the whole club right now, it's a great opportunity to take that next step in my career and push myself further.

“I think this is definitely the environment to do it.

"The family are excited as it means that they can come to both of our games and not miss one of us playing. They're happy and I think she (Jess) is happy to, so I can't really complain.”

Boss Steve Cuss added: "We've known about Amber and her footballing ability for a long time through junior football.

“We're delighted to have her in the squad and adding competition for places."
