DARREN Randolph is set to follow in a recent Irish tradition when it comes to squad numbers at Cherries.

The goalkeeper joined Cherries from West Ham United for an undisclosed fee this week, penning a deal until the summer of 2024.

The 35-year-old played 50 times for the Republic of Ireland national team.

He has taken the number 12 shirt at Cherries, which was formerly worn by fellow Irishman Robbie Brady last season.

Prior to that, Republic of Ireland striker Shane Long donned number 12 during his loan spell from Southampton.

Randolph is not the first goalkeeper to take that number at Cherries, with 12 formerly worn by Aaron Ramsdale, David Button and Gareth Stewart.

Other incumbents include Juan Iturbe and Wes Fogden.
