PHILIP Billing is “looking to leave” Cherries this month amid interest from Valencia, according to a report by Mail Online.

Billing has been a key player for Cherries in recent seasons, including this campaign where he has notched four goals and provided one assist from 21 appearances.

He had featured in all of the club’s Premier League matches since returning to the top flight, prior to missing Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest.

Boss Gary O’Neil says the Denmark international missed the contest due to a “slight muscle injury”.

The Daily Echo understands there have been no bids or approaches made for Billing during this transfer window.

Midfielder Billing has regularly been linked with a move away, since arriving from Huddersfield Town for £15million in July 2019.

Having suffered relegation in his first season at Cherries with Eddie Howe in charge, Billing lost his way a little under Jason Tindall, before a new lease of life in an advanced attacking role when Jonathan Woodgate took over as boss.

The 26-year-old then played a key role in helping Cherries back to promotion under Scott Parker last season, with 10 goals and 10 assists from 40 Championship games, and continues to be a vital member of the side for new boss O’Neil.

Valencia are struggling in La Liga this season, sitting 13th in the table, just two points clear of the relegation zone.

Managed by former AC Milan star Gennaro Gattuso, their current squad includes the likes of Edinson Cavani, Jose Gaya and Justin Kluivert.
