GARY O’Neil shed more light on Dominic Solanke’s injury, sharing: “He’s not too bad”.

Cherries' talisman missed the trip to London last weekend due to an injury sustained in training, Brentford beating O’Neil’s side 2-0 at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Asked by the Daily Echo for an update on Solanke after the defeat, O’Neil replied stating that the club would wait for a medical opinion before confirming a timeline, with rumours circling on social media of a lengthy lay-off.

Questioned again over Solanke’s injury prior to Cherries’ Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest this weekend, O’Neil responded: “He jarred his knee when there was no one around him, sort of an awkward fall.

“He's not too bad.

“I don't expect him to be out for too long. He won't make the weekend but I expect to have him back soon.”

Cherries do not have another fixture after the Forest game for two weeks, when they visit the Amex Stadium to take on Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton.

So far this campaign, Solanke has missed three Premier League fixtures – with Cherries losing all three games without scoring a goal.

In 16 league appearances this season, the 25-year-old has scored three times and provided three assists.
