CHERRIES have reportedly had two bids rejected by Bristol City for attacker Antoine Semenyo.

BristolLive claim that an initial offer totalling £8million fell “considerably short" of City's valuation of the 23-year-old.

A second bid in the region of £10million was then believed to have also been turned down.

Other sources claim Cherries are no longer pursuing a deal at the time of writing.

The Robins activated a clause in the Ghanaian international’s contract in December, extending it until the summer of 2024.

It has also been reported by the Athletic that Cherries have held an interest in Semenyo for some time, with injuries to Dominic Solanke and Marcus Tavernier pushing the club into action.

The Athletic also claim that Semenyo has agreed personal terms with Cherries, meaning the only obstacle in the way of a deal is the transfer fee between the two clubs.

London-born Semenyo came through the ranks at Ashton Gate to make over 100 appearances for Bristol City, scoring 20 goals and assisting 22 times in 124 games.

This campaign he has five goals and two assists in 22 Championship fixtures.

A forward capable of playing across the front line, Semenyo has made six senior appearances for Ghana, scoring once. He played twice at the World Cup in December, with the Black Stars knocked out in the group stage of the competition.
