CHERRIES have had a bid for Dango Ouattara accepted by FC Lorient, the Daily Echo understands.

Sky Sports' Mark McAdam claims the value of the deal stands at £20million, with reports in France claiming the deal to total around £24.3million with bonuses included (€27.5million).

The Daily Echo understands the winger will travel to the UK in the coming days to complete a medical and finalise personal terms.

20-year-old Ouattara has six goals and six assists in 18 Ligue Un appearances this term, helping his club to a current position of seventh in the league table.

Fellow Premier League strugglers Leicester City and Everton were two clubs also linked with the Burkinabè international.

Cherries chairman Bill Foley recently led a takeover of a 'significant minority share' in Lorient, the stake believed to be around 33 per cent of the Breton club.

The signing of Ouattara comes with the added benefit of the winger not needing to be registered for Premier League games, as he is under the age of 21.

At international level with Burkina Faso, Ouattara has scored five goals in 11 appearances for the West African nation.

He left Burkinabè club Majestic, from his hometown Ouagadougou, in 2019 to join Lorient’s B team.
