POOLE Town youngster Will Butler is currently on trial with Championship Watford.
Goalkeeper Butler, who turned 18 in June, will train with the Hornets for eight weeks in a bid to earn a return to the ranks of a professional academy.
The shot-stopper had previously been on the books of Cherries and Southampton as a youngster, going on to join Champion Sports’ full time programme.
A full international for the British Virgin Islands after making his debut against Curacao a day after his 17th birthday, Butler has made 12 appearances for the Dolphins, recording two clean sheets.
His latest game for Poole came in their 3-2 win over Shaftesbury on Tuesday evening, Dolphins advancing to the final of the Dorset Senior Cup for the second season in a row.
The teenager has largely served as number one Luke Cairney’s understudy this campaign.
After Cairney’s red card against Hayes & Yeading at the end of October, Butler stepped in to cover the elder keeper’s suspension for a win over Hendon, and defeats away at Harrow Borough and Weston-super-Mare.
Poole travel just south of Watford on Saturday, when they visit Hanwell Town in the Southern League Premier Division South.
