FORMER Cherries boss Scott Parker is priced as bookmakers’ favourite to be appointed as the next Norwich City manager.

The Canaries are on the hunt for a new boss, after parting company with Dean Smith this week. It came after they were beaten 2-1 by 10-man Luton Town on Boxing Day.

Norwich, looking for an instant return to the top flight, currently sit fifth in the Championship with 35 points from their 24 matches.

Parker has been out of work since he was sacked by Cherries in August. He featured as a pundit on Amazon Prime for their coverage of Arsenal against West Ham United this week.

He has two promotions out of the Championship on his CV, having successfully guided both Fulham and Cherries to the Premier League.

Parker, 42, is priced at 5-2 with bookmakers Sky Bet for the role at Norwich, ahead of Swansea City boss Russell Martin (7-2), out-of-work duo Sean Dyche (4-1) and Ralph Hasenhuttl (6-1) and Coventry City’s Mark Robins (6-1).

Parker had a brief spell as a player at Norwich, on loan from Charlton Athletic in 2000.

He made six appearances, scoring one goal.
