JEFF Mostyn is set for a new role at Cherries, the Daily Echo understands.

Mostyn had operated as the club’s chairman, since being asked to take on the role by former boss Eddie Howe and now ex-owner Maxim Demin in 2013.

Mostyn, Cherries’ former vice-chair, had vacated the position of chairman following the club’s administration in 2008.

He returned to Dean Court as part of a consortium which saw Eddie Mitchell take charge in June 2009, helping to keep the club afloat, before selling his shares to Demin in 2011.

But Mostyn will no longer operate as Cherries’ chairman, with Bill Foley taking that title.

The American businessman is the managing general partner of the club’s new ownership group, Black Knight Football and Entertainment, which have acquired 100 per cent of Cherries from Demin. The long-awaited deal has now finally been ratified by the Premier League.

But the Daily Echo understands Mostyn’s association with the club will continue, in a new role, with full details set to be confirmed in due course.
