DAVID Brooks is currently in Qatar with the Wales squad, with the Dragons' chief medical officer sharing: "Hoping that he will run out for Bournemouth in the next four-to-six weeks."
The member of Cymru's medical staff posted on his Instagram a snap with the attacker. Houghton was part of the team that first diagnosed Brooks when he was on international duty with Wales, also helping him in his recovery.
Welsh international Brooks has not played a competitive game for either Cherries or Wales since September 2021, shortly before he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Unnamed in Wales' 26-man squad for the tournament, Brooks will be unable to play in their must-win clash with England this evening (kick-off 7pm).
It is believed that Brooks is purely with Wales for morale. Cherries returned to training on Monday, ahead of jetting out to the Middle East, where they have a warm weather training camp.
During his rehabilitation, Brooks suffered a setback, picking up a hamstring injury.
