INTERIM boss Gary O’Neil insisted the order of results in which Cherries picked up points in the Premier League was “irrelevant”.

The 39-year-old was speaking after seeing his side slip to a 3-2 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur last time out, their third reverse in as many games.

Following a six-game unbeaten run during which the Dorset club picked up 10 points under his stewardship, O’Neil has seen his side draw a blank in games against Southampton, West Ham and now Spurs.

Asked about rallying his troops for their trip to Leeds United on Saturday (3pm), O’Neil said: “Three losses on the trot doesn’t mean anything to me at all.

“I think the order in which the results come is irrelevant.

“We’ve had nine Premier League matches and we’ve lost three, so that is the realism of the situation.

“I think the nature of the Premier League is that if you lose the game against Southampton with a moment – you’re pushing and don’t manage to get an equaliser, the next two games are West Ham away and Spurs at home. You are staring down the barrel of losing three on the trot.

“That is what it is. It won’t affect how the boys prepare or mentally how they are ready for the next one.

“We know we fully commit every week to the game plan, we fully commit like they did on Saturday, everybody saw.

“Then wherever the chips land at the end, we accept it. We analyse it and we get ourselves ready for the next one. We will be ready, no problem.”
