THE SGB Championship grand final has suffered further delays, with today's second leg postponed.

Both Poole Pirates and Leicester Lions have already had to rearrange scheduled dates originally proposed for this final, due to recent wet weather across the country.

Poole managed to dodge the rain to host the first leg on Wednesday evening, coming from behind to win 49-41 to take a lead into the second leg.

But tonight’s proposed fixture at Beaumont Park has now been postponed.

A brief statement from Leicester says the decision has come “because of heavy overnight rain” in the Midlands.

Instead, Poole are now set to head to Leicester tomorrow, with a 5pm start.

The forecast at present is looking more favourable for tomorrow, with both clubs hoping they can bring to a conclusion this year’s grand final.

Poole are looking to retain the title they won last year.

Meanwhile, the same two clubs are also still due to contest the Championship Jubilee League final, but no agreement has yet been reached regarding new possible dates for these fixtures.
