HAMWORTHY United have confirmed that interim boss Dan Cann has been handed the hot seat at the County Ground on a permanent basis.

Installed as caretaker after Tim Sills’ departure to join divisional rivals Wimborne Town at the start of October, Cann has led Hammers in their last four fixtures, picking up four points.

Still registered as a player, Cann has had numerous spells with the Hammers over the years, re-joining earlier this year after a spell as player-coach at Wimborne Town.

Cann will continued to be assisted by Steve Devlin and Sean Leadbetter, with Hammers visiting Bishop’s Cleeve Saturday afternoon in the Southern League Division One South (kick-off 3pm).

In their debut campaign in the eighth tier of English football, Hamworthy currently sit eighth after 11 games played, a point shy of Evesham United, who occupy the final play-off spot of fifth.
