GARY O’Neil revealed that star striker Dominic Solanke’s injury is not as bad as first feared, with Cherries remaining “hopeful” he will be available at the weekend.

One-time England international Solanke was seen leaving the London Stadium on crutches and in an ankle boot, following a first-half substitution in the 2-0 defeat to West Ham.

Solanke has started every game since O’Neil took interim charge of Cherries, although he did miss two games at the start of the season due to an ankle injury.

So far this campaign he has provided two goals and three assists, the most goal contributions of any Cherries player this campaign.

Asked for an update on the forward, O’Neil did not place an exact timeframe, sharing: “Dom is a lot better than expected.

“So good news on Dom, he’s recovered well and we're still hopeful.”

Cherries host Tottenham Hotspur at the Vitality Stadium this weekend (kick-off 3pm).
