GARY Havelock says he is "absolutely over the moon" with the way Pirates completed the job and moved through to the SGB Championship grand final.

Holding a 30-point lead from the semi-final first leg, Poole made the long trip to take on Glasgow Tigers.

And not only did they progress comfortably on aggregate, but they also came from behind to win the meeting 50-39 on the night, to take the overall score to 110-69.

Reigning champions Pirates will now meet Leicester Lions in the two-legged final, still seeking a treble, having booked their spot in the Knockout Cup and Jubilee League finals.

Poole got off to a tricky start at Ashfield, with Ben Cook excluded from the opening heat, deemed to have caused Benjamin Basso to crash out.

The hosts then recorded a 5-1 in heat two, before Pirates battled back.

Discussing his side's performance on the night, Poole team boss Havelock told British Speedway Network: "I'm absolutely over the moon with the performance. We all just turned up today thinking we would just go through the motions and get a win.

"But after those incidents in the first couple of heats, it properly fired us up.

"I really wanted to win the actual meeting as well and we've managed to do that."
