POOLE Pirates completed the job over a depleted Glasgow Tigers side to book their spot in the SGB Championship grand final.

Pirates knew it would take a monumental collapse to avoid progressing through to face Leicester Lions, having trounced the Tigers 60-30 in the semi-final first leg at Wimborne Road on Wednesday night.

And they kept tonight's hosts at bay throughout the evening, with the Tigers never looking like overhauling the deficit.

Pirates progress 110-69 on aggregate, following a 50-39 victory at Ashfield. Steve Worrall led the way for the visitors, scoring 12 paid 13.

Glasgow did take an early lead in the second leg with a 5-1 in heat two, courtesy of Connor Bailey and Paul Starke.

But that proved to be as good as it got as Poole chipped away to level at 21-21 after heat seven, which proved to be one of the biggest flashpoints of the evening.

Already without Ulrich Ostergaard and Danyon Hume before a wheel was turned, Tom Brennan joined the injury list, following a collision with Drew Kemp.

Tigers skipper Brennan was checked over by the medics and ruled out of the rest of the meeting.

After a delay, Poole moved in front on the night as Richard Lawson and Zach Cook combined for a 5-1 in heat nine.

Ben Cook and Danny King repeated that trick in heat 11, before drama in heat 13 saw both Lawson and Benjamin Basso excluded after falling on the same corner.

Pirates then completed the job in style, with Worrall and Ben Cook adding another maximum.

Poole will face Leicester Lions in the final, with dates to be confirmed.

Pirates 50 (110): King 8+2, B Cook 8+2, Worrall 12+1, Kemp 6, Lawson 9, Z Cook 7+2, Ablitt 0.

Glasgow 39 (69): Basso 6+1, C Cook 9, Nicol 3+1, Brennan 3+1, Starke 10+1, Bailey 8+1.
