POOLE Town romped back to winning ways at the BlackGold Stadium, comfortably dispatching Yate Town 5-0.

First-half goals from Wes Fogden, Tony Lee, and Toby Holmes set Dolphins on their way, before Jake Andrews and Will Fletcher added further gloss to the final score line.

Dolphins boss Tommy Killick handed a debut to latest loan signing Ade Olumuyiwa after his move was finally ratified by the Southern League late on Friday evening.

The hosts took just five minutes to open scores, with Toby Holmes, Lee, and Fogden all trying to convert mayhem in the box.

It would be former Cherries midfielder Fogden who found the finishing touch, quelling the chaos by blasting the ball past Martin Horsell in the Yate goal.

Dolphins’ second came 10 minutes later when Lee steered a well-planted Will Spetch cross into the back of the net.

And it was three before the 25th minute mark, when Toby Holmes cut this way-and-that-way, before placing his effort beyond Horsell.

In an opening flurry of action, Poole had two further strikes ruled out due to close offside decisions.

Toby Holmes’ poked finish was chalked off as Lee was offside in the build-up, before the latter was again adjudged to have strayed beyond the last men before nodding home Corby Moore’s cross.

Yate restored parity when it came to possession, but were unable to properly test Luke Cairney in the Poole goal.

Content with their lead, Poole calmed their constant attacks, leading to a more even second period.

When Lee was bundled over outside the box, it gave an opportunity for Andrews to open his account for Poole.

He took the free-kick with aplomb, picking the far corner and stretching Poole’s lead even further.

Substitute Fletcher rounded off the scoring, with the young striker latching on to a loose pass in the Yate half, before driving forward and converting.

A first victory at home this campaign sees Poole rise up to 10th in the Southern League Premier South table.
