CHERRIES midfielder Danny Hollands is the winner of this year's prestigious Daily Echo / Micky Cave trophy.
The former Chelsea reserve team captain has put in a string of impressive performances this term and beat off competition from loanee Maxi Gradel and striker Sam Vokes to claim the honour.
Hollands will be officially presented with the trophy before Saturday's crucial League One clash against Crewe at Dean Court.
A delighted Hollands told the Echo this afternoon: "Winning the trophy caps a good season personally and I'm overwhelmed to win it."
A record number of votes were polled for this year's player of the season.
