DEREK Timoney wants "another Winter Gardens spirit" after calling an open meeting of the Cherries Supporters' Trust.

Trust vice-chairman Timoney is hoping for a big turn out of fans, as happened back in 1997 when supporters packed the Winter Gardens in a bid to rally round the club, to discuss ways of helping the ailing Dean Court outfit.

The move comes after administrator Gerald Krasner called a press conference on Thursday to reopen the bidding for the crisis club.

Krasner, the former Leeds United chairman, told the media the £1million offer from Jeff Mostyn's consortium was no longer on the table, and that the club could go to the wall without a quick injection of funds.

Timoney and the Supporters' Trust have responded by scheduling an open meeting for Thursday, April 10, in the main gallery of the Opera House, Boscombe, from 7.30pm.

"It's got to be another Winter Gardens type of spirit," Timoney, who has been in his role for nearly three years, told the Daily Echo.

"We need to discuss ways forward and what we can do to help.

"It's time for fans to unite and see what we can do to help."

Timoney, who hopes to have the two trust representatives on the Cherries board in attendance, admitted he wasn't surprised on hearing Thursday's revelations.

He said: "It's disappointing because it would've been nice to have something to work with.

"But it's back to the drawing board. And it's a case of how much time Gerald Krasner is prepared to give it."

Timoney added: "We really would like all fans to attend.

"They can get an update from the Supporters' Trust and discuss ways we can go forward.

"The most important thing is to have all the parties moving together.

"In response to requests for this meeting, we're holding it."
