A PLAYER exodus may be sparked after Gerald Krasner revealed he had sought advice from one of the game's leading agents in a bid to generate much-needed funds.

Wasserman Media Group (WMG), which represents the likes of Premier League stars Steven Gerrard, Michael Owen and Robbie Keane, has been contacted by administrator Krasner to discuss potential player sales.

With the cash-strapped club desperately in need of money, Krasner admitted that the sale of the club's playing staff was one avenue open to exploration.

"I've instructed WMG, who are well known in the football agent area, to advise me regarding potential player sales and realisations of that," the former Leeds United chairman told yesterday's press conference.

"We're considering everything between now and Monday. No decisions will be made, no players will be sold this side of Monday, even if they could be, which at this point in the season is very difficult, if impossible.

"But we've got a number of options open to us and it's incumbent on us to consider all potential options."

Rumours have been circulating in recent months about the future of the club's prize asset Sam Vokes, with the young striker's exploits reportedly attracting the interest of a host of major clubs, including Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Celtic.

Cherries manager Kevin Bond said: "We can ill afford to sell any players, we haven't got many as it is.

"But if we have got players who are worth money, there's no point keeping a player if in the end you don't have a football club to support. There's no mileage in that at all.

"If push came to shove and the club's existence was dependent on selling a footballer, then a footballer would have to be sold."
