DELIGHTED Ringwood Town boss Jy Taylor hailed his side's best result of the season as the relegation candidates shone under lights on Friday night.

Tasked with the difficult prospect of a trip to Brockenhurst, not many pundits would have predicted a convincing away win for Taylor's team, but they ran out 3-0 victors to boost their slim survival hopes.

"It was a fantastic result," Taylor told the Daily Echo.

"Everyone was buzzing afterwards.

"It was thoroughly deserved and wasn't lucky and it gives us some confidence.

"It was as good as we know we can play. We were very cool in every department.

"We knew we had taken a battering in the second half and we were under the cosh.

"They had six or seven good chances but their finishing wasn't as good as I'm sure they'd have liked."

Taylor also admitted his annoyance at not knowing how many sides will exit through the Sydenhams Wessex Premier Division trap door come the end of the season.

He said: "We're not going to give up. The frustrating thing for us is that the league won't tell us how many will go down.

"If four go down, realistically we've got no hope. But if two go down there's still something to play for.

"You can't see any of the bottom five sides picking up lots of points so if one side can put a run together they've got a chance of being safe."
