VERWOOD Town's promotion hopes were left hanging by a thread after they squandered a two-goal lead to lose at Division One rivals Farnborough North End.
Adie Arnold's men were in dreamland inside the opening seven minutes as goals from Charlie Elysee and Adam Faulkner put them in charge. But the afternoon soon turned into a nightmare as the hosts bagged three goals in 17 second-half minutes to steal the points.
"It's down to the players now," said manager Arnold.
"It will be interesting to see if they've got the bottle to finish the job.
"They look for someone else to do it rather than themselves. They pass on the responsibility."
Verwood Town: Willis, Giles, Yerby, Lynch, Homer, Dyer, Arnold, Faulkner, Elysee, Goodall, Reeves (Truan, 60). Unused sub: Beverley.
