WEST Ham United boss David Moyes said sacked Scott Parker “did a really good job” guiding Cherries to promotion last season and added: “He won’t have a problem if he wants to work again.”

Parker was dismissed from his post as head coach at the Dorset club on Tuesday morning, ending a spell of 55 games in charge on the south coast.

He won just more than half his fixtures at the helm, but frequently voiced his frustration over a lack of spending by Cherries this summer.

Asked about Parker’s dismissal, former Everton, Sunderland and Manchester United boss Moyes said: “I thought he did a really good job getting Bournemouth up. He was really successful at Fulham as well.

“It’s really hard to be successful in football management. If you think of how many managers have success every year, there might only be three or four good enough maybe to win a trophy, end up in Europe or maybe win a league title.

“There will be another three or four who might have overachieved and done better. It’s very hard to be a successful manager.

“I think Scott’s had a couple of years, where I see he got Bournemouth up and that’s a great job doing that. He did a good job at Fulham as well, in my estimation.

“I think he won’t have a problem if he wants to work again, that’s for sure.”

According to Transfermarkt, only Leicester City have spent less on transfers than Cherries in the Premier League this summer.

Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers said: “Obviously bitterly disappointed for Scott. He has done a great job in getting them promoted and, of course, over the course of the summer he’s has his own difficulties in terms of getting players in.

“Scott knows the level, having been in the Premier League and, as a manager, you know where you want to bring your squad to, to be competitive.

“I think it’s just been really unfortunate for him that he hasn’t been able to do that.”

Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper said: “It’s always a shock and disappointment to see a manager lose his job.

“I don’t know too much about the ins and outs because you’re focusing on what we are doing here.”

As Cherries seek Parker’s replacement, interim boss Gary O’Neil’s team take on Wolves at Vitality Stadium tomorrow night.
