POOLE Town have been handed a home draw against Salisbury in the FA Cup first qualifying round – which is set to take place five days after they meet in a Bank Holiday Monday derby clash.
There is no love lost between Dolphins boss Tom Killick and his Whites counterpart Steve Claridge, with the pair embroiled in frequent spats over the years.
Both meetings in the league finished in draws last term, with their last meeting in the FA Cup coming back in 2017, when then National South Poole defeated seventh-tier Salisbury 2-0 at the Ray Mac in the second qualifying round.
Wimborne Town have also been handed a local affair, with the Magpies of East Dorset set to welcome their namesakes from the County town, Dorchester.
James Stokoe’s men defeated Moneyfields in the preliminary round to set up the tie with their fellow Dorset Magpies, with Wimborne victorious when the two sides met in pre-season.
Wimborne’s divisional rivals, Hamworthy United, host Southern Premier League Gosport Borough at home.
Hammers began their FA Cup campaign with a comfortable 4-0 win away at Hellenic Premier side Bradford Town in the extra preliminary round, before negotiating a tricky tie against Badshot Lea in the preliminary round, coming back from 1-0 down to eventually win 3-2.
Ties will be staged on Saturday, September 3, with winners pocketing £2,250, and losers receiving £750.
