SCOTT Parker admitted Marcos Senesi had endured a "tough" full Cherries debut, adding: "The Premier League is unforgiving."

The Argentina international centre-back, who made a cameo appearance against Manchester City last time out, was named in the starting XI for the first time, for Saturday's visit of Arsenal to Vitality Stadium.

But the former Feyenoord man was bullied by Gunners striker Gabriel Jesus inside the opening five minutes, in the build-up to Arsenal's first goal.

Martin Odegaard scored twice in that first half, before Senesi was replaced at the break by Jaidon Anthony, as Parker switched formation to try and forge a way back into the contest.

Ben Pearson was also withdrawn, with Lewis Cook coming on, but a William Saliba stunner earned Arsenal a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Asked for his assessment of 25-year-old Senesi's first start for the club, Parker told the Daily Echo: "It was tough. I could’ve made loads of changes at half-time.

"So it was tough for Marcos. He’s only been in here now for a couple of weeks, probably had not a lot of training time and the Premier League is unforgiving.

"There’s no prep to understand how quick the league is, how physical the league is at times.

"I just felt the best thing was, in terms of changing it tactically as well, was to make that change."
