CHERRIES are one of three Premier League clubs "keen" on signing Bristol City forward Antoine Semenyo, according to a report by MailOnline.

The recently-capped Ghana international is yet to feature for the Robins this season due to injury, but has scored 13 goals in 98 appearances since breaking into the club's first team.

Semenyo, who can play centrally or out wide, has also racked up 20 assists in that time, and spent loan spells with Bath City, Newport County and Sunderland.

The 22-year-old, born in Chelsea, came through the academy at Bristol City and was named the EFL Championship player of the month in January of this year.

The Mail claim Nigel Pearson's Robins are "facing a battle" to keep hold of Semenyo, ahead of the transfer window closing on September 1.

Crystal Palace are said to be willing to pay £12million, with Cherries and Everton also credited with an interest.

Bristol City are reportedly aiming to receive an initial £15million for Semenyo, who has one year left on his current contract, although the Robins also retain an option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.

Nottingham Forest and Celtic have also previously been linked with a move for Semenyo.

Cherries have made five signings this summer since promotion back to the Premier League in Ryan Fredericks, Joe Rothwell, Marcus Tavernier, Neto and Marcos Senesi.
