AWAY trips to the Etihad are arguably the most forgettable encounters for Cherries fans, but there were still some interesting facts and figures arising from the 4-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City.

The Cityzens recorded their fourth 4-0 win over Cherries in the Premier League, and their third victory by that margin at home, leaving supporters of the Dorset club with a sense of déjà vu.

Some of the below numbers do not make for pretty reading, but there are a few statistics that you might not have heard over the weekend.

150 – Lewis Cook reached the milestone last week, and Jefferson Lerma followed in his footsteps at the Etihad. Lerma has now made a century-and-a-half of appearances in red and black, following from his debut away at Chelsea in September 2018. 65 of his Cherries’ appearances have come in England’s top-flight.

48 – A run of 48 league starts came to an end for Dom Solanke on Saturday. The striker had been named in the starting XI for all of Scott Parker’s league matches in charge at Cherries, scoring 29 times.

7 – Jamal Lowe came off the bench for his Premier League debut, meaning the Jamaican international has now played in all of England’s top seven tiers. He has now featured in the Prem, Championship, League One, League Two, the National League, National South, and both the Isthmian and Southern Premier Leagues at Step Three of the English pyramid.

2.33 – Jordan Zemura’s impressive points per game record under Scott Parker remains intact. The left-back missed multiple defeats last year due to a combination of injury and AFCON duties with Zimbabwe, meaning he has only tasted defeat four times in a Cherries shirt.

18 – Cherries have never beaten Manchester City in their 18 competitive meetings – P18 W0 D2 L16. Defeat at the Etihad was their 12th consecutive loss in a row to Pep Guardiola’s side, a run stretching back to Cherries’ first Premier League season.

17 – Closely related, but Cherries’ 17 games without victory against Manchester City is the longest streak one side has faced another without a win in English league history. On a similar note, City’s 100 per cent record of 11 wins from 11 Premier League meetings is the longest perfect streak against a specific team in the competition’s history.

8 – Cherries restricted Erling Haaland to just eight touches on Saturday, the lowest amount of touches in the Premier League since Romelu Lukaku’s seven touches for Chelsea against Crystal Palace (minimum 70 minutes played). The striker managed just two passes – one from kick-off, and one to set up the Ilkay Gundogan’s opener.

4 – Nathan Ake ended up on the winning side for the first time against his former employers, after three previous encounters. He came up against Cherries once whilst on loan at Reading in the Championship, losing 1-0, whilst the also took part in two draws whilst with Watford in the Premier League.

10 – Jefferson Lerma’s own goal was Cherries’ 10thin Premier League history. Lerma himself has been responsible for two, whilst the other inadvertent goalscorers were Jack Simpson, Steve Cook (three), Tyrone Mings (two), Lys Mousset, and Adam Smith.

455 – City made 455 passes in Cherries’ half – in comparison, Scott Parker’s side made just 48 passes in City’s half.
