DETERMINED Drew Kemp revealed he had to make changes to rectify his form, after hitting back with double figures for Pirates against Plymouth.

After drawing a blank against Oxford a week previously, Kemp responded with 10 paid 12 from five rides against the Gladiators, during Poole’s 62-28 victory on Wednesday.

He was nominated for heat 15 by team boss Neil Middleditch, earning him an extra ride and race win.

Speaking on the centre green after his success, Kemp, who today celebrates his 20th birthday, said: “It’s nice to finish on a win.

“Obviously last week wasn’t great at all and I thought to myself I didn’t want that to happen again.

“I had to make a few changes and that’s what I did.

“I love doing this. This is what I want to do for the rest of my career, so it’s time for me figure out a little bit and help me now.

“So, in 10 years’ time, when I am getting on a little bit I can be where I want to be.”

Kemp is a in a reserve spot for Sunday’s SGP2 event in Cardiff.
