MARCUS Tavernier is set to make his Cherries debut, having been named in the starting XI for this afternoon's Premier League opener against Aston Villa.

The midfielder only completed his move from Middlesbrough this week, but comes straight into the team.

There is also a surprise start for Ben Pearson, who was not part of the squad which played Real Sociedad, in last week's final friendly of the summer.

Meanwhile, Kieffer Moore partners Dominic Solanke up front. Despite his huge impact at the end of last season, it is the Wales international's first competitive start for the club.

Jordan Zemura makes his first appearnce in the top flight.

Ryan Christie, Emiliano Marcondes, Siriki Dembele, James Hill and Jaidon Anthony could all make their Premier League debuts from the bench.

Nine subs have been named, with five allowed to be used during the contest.

As for Villa, former Cherries striker Danny Ings starts up front, with Tyrone Mings on the bench.
