CHERRIES' new recruit Ryan Fredericks revealed how conversations with two of the club's promotion-winning heroes helped convince him to join the club.

Fredericks, 29, this week completed his move to Cherries on a free transfer, after exiting West Ham United.

The full-back, formerly of Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham, even played with Cherries boss Scott Parker in the Premier League before his retirement.

Discussing his decision to link up with Parker again, this time at Cherries, Fredericks told afcbTV: "I spoke to Junior Stanislas (this week). He told me a bit about the club and the area and how good it is.

"He told me, the manager's sessions, I’ll love. They're fun, exciting sessions, lots of the ball.

"I spoke with Callum Wilson, who obviously used to be at the club, he sold it really well as well.

"He said every player that comes here ends up loving the club and a lot of them want to stay and retire after football, so I think that says enough!"

Fredericks has also had a brief spell at Bristol City, as well as loan stays at Brentford, Millwall and Middlesbrough throughout his career.

He has spent the past four seasons in the top flight, all with West Ham, racking up 77 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals.

"I think at this stage of my career it is exactly what I needed," said Fredericks of his move to the south coast.

"A bit of fresh excitement into my life and into my career and hopefully I can reward the manager and the club for bringing me here."
