KIEFFER Moore revealed how David Brooks was ready to “get back at it” after being given the all-clear from cancer.

Former Manchester City youngster Brooks underwent treatment after being diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin’s lymphoma, while on international duty with Wales last October.

In the build-up to Cherries’ promotion decider with Nottingham Forest earlier this month, it had been announced the 24-year-old’s treatment was successful.

And, speaking at Wales’s training camp ahead of their Nations League fixtures and crucial World Cup play-off, Moore revealed Cherries and international teammate Brooks was eager to get back among the squads.

Quizzed about Brooks, Moore said: “He’s been really good, he’s been in good spirits. I think he just wants to be amongst the lads and get back at it now.

“After such great news, it was perfect for him to see us get promoted and even give him something to drive for as well – playing in the Premier League and when we qualify for a World Cup! He’s in really good form.”

Brooks has played 91 times for Cherries since arriving at the club from Sheffield United in the summer of 2018.

“We all know Brooksy’s experience and his approach to the game is amazing,” said Moore. “We miss him in the team, we miss him around, so when he can get back fit he would bring great application to the Premier League and to our team now.”
