BIRMINGHAM Brummies ace Claus Vissing will miss tonight's trip to Edinburgh Monarchs, due to the neck injury he suffered against Poole Pirates on Wednesday night.

The Dane endured a night to forget against Pirates, failing to score from four rides as Neil Middleditch's men won 55-35 at Perry Barr Stadium.

But while the 35-year-old finished the meeting, it has now been revealed Brummies' number one was suffering throughout after an unfortunate incident in heat one, which saw him disqualified.

Birmingham boss Laurence Rogers explained to the club website: "When he hit the tapes in the initial staging of heat one, they wrapped around his neck and proper cut in pretty deep.

"It actually jarred his Adam's apple and anyone who was there will have seen how desperate he was to unravel himself because he could feel them digging in.

"He battled on but in the end had a meeting to forget. The paramedics were keen to check on him after the meeting and ruled him out of racing for a few days."
