RYAN Christie has been selected in Scotland’s squad for their crunch World-Cup play-offs.

The Scots are two wins away from a first World Cup in 24 years, with their last visit to the finals coming in 1998.

Cherries star Christie will need to beat Ukraine in the semi-final to set up a clash with teammates Kieffer Moore and Chris Mepham, with Wales already qualified for the final.

The former Celtic man had returned to Scotland well in advance of the announcement, with Christie involved in an extra-training camp as the Scots ramp up preparations for the crucial fixtures.

Scotland could potentially play five fixtures in June if they reach the final, with three Nations League fixtures also scheduled.

They host Armenia at Hampden on Wednesday, June 8, before travelling to neighbours Ireland on Saturday, June 11. They will end their run of games away in Armenia on Tuesday, June 14.
