FOUR Cherries youngsters have signed new deals with the club.

Under-18s Marcus Daws, Noa Boutin, Owen Bevan, and Ferdinand Okoh will continue their development at the Dorset club after extending their stay with Cherries.

All four will now join up with Shaun Cooper’s development squad next season, a side that has also been bolstered by the addition of Dominic Sadi and Chris Francis from non-league sides.

Bevan, who captained Cherries’ under-18 side to the EFL Alliance Youth League title, signed a two-year professional deal earlier in the campaign.

Frenchman Boutin and Okoh have now agreed third year scholars and first year professional deals, whilst former Southampton trainee Daws has signed as a third-year scholar.

Daws and Boutin spent time on loan at Southern League Premier South outfit Poole Town this campaign, alongside fellow academy player Jack Seddon.

In the same league, Bevan spent time with Cornish side Truro City, where he played 21 times. Last pre-season Bevan featured in a first-team friendly against Real Balompedica Linense, whilst Okoh has previously trained with the first-team on multiple occasions.

All four players featured during Cherries’ FA Youth Cup this campaign, with Boutin scoring the winning goal to send Cherries to the fifth round. Whilst the side went on to lose heavily to Leicester, the quartet played the full 90 minutes.

Speaking about the crop of players, under-18s boss Connell told the club’s website: “I’ve been doing this job a long time now, but it’s been one of the most satisfying seasons to work with this group of players day in, day out.

“We’ve had success as a group, we progressed far in the FA Youth Cup and we won the league; so there’s been team success but more importantly, the individuals have improved.

“There are second-year scholars (Daws, Boutin, Okoh, Bevan) that have already gone up to the development squad and been out on loan, so I think it’s been really productive for them.”
