NEIL Middleditch confirmed co-team manager Gary Havelock would be set to take charge for Pirates’ trip to Redcar Bears in the SGB Championship tonight (7.30pm).
Former world champion Havelock is set to resume his role fulfilling the northern fixtures on the road for the defending league champions.
Middleditch did not travel to the northern venues due to family reasons last season – and is happy with the same arrangement this time around.
He joked: “I get a nosebleed when I get past Leicester!
“Havvy is back on Friday – it’s straight-forward. He lives in Yarm which is up in Middlesbrough.
“I will do a few meetings. Everybody knows why I didn’t do the northern thing.
“But with Havvy, it’s great for him. He is really getting excited to lead the team, so I’m sure he will do a great job.
“He’s different to me! But he has the same amount of enthusiasm as me.”
