PROMOTER Danny Ford insisted Pirates had to keep the focus in a bid to maintain their remarkable home record at Wimborne Road.
Poole host Birmingham Brummies in the SGB Championship tomorrow (7.30pm), putting on the line their unbeaten run on home shale, since September 2019.
Pirates, the defending league champions, have already beaten Plymouth and Oxford on their home track this campaign.
But Ford insisted they could not take the Brummies, who have British Champion Adam Ellis in their ranks, for granted.
He told the club website: "I think it is fair to say that on paper we would be marked down as favourites to win this meeting.
“But we all know that speedway has a habit of delivering the unexpected so it will be down to our lads to go out there and keep our strong home record going."
The Brummies also have the likes of former Pirates James Shanes and Stefan Nielsen in their ranks.
