DOLPHINS boss Tom Killick credited midfield duo Declan Rose and Corby Moore for creating the industry required for Poole to breeze past Harrow Borough 3-0.

Tony Lee took the headlines with his brace, whilst Addwell Chipangura added a third in the closing stages.

Rose, a defender by trade, has fared well since being drafted into the middle of the park due to injuries to Sean Wright, Teddy Davey, and Josh Carmichael.

Despite the comfortable winning margin, Killick admitted he had been “really impressed” with Harrow after watching them on a recent scouting trip.

Reflecting on the game, the Black Gold Stadium stalwart told the Daily Echo: “We tried a little bit of a different formation and it meant there were times where they had quite a lot of possession, but I didn't think they hurt us an awful lot.

“I did feel we looked a threat when we went forward. I went to watch Harrow against Wimborne two, three weeks ago and I was really impressed with them. And when you look at their front four, the 11, 10, nine and the seven, they play high and I think they're just very good football players - they did cause us some problems.

“I feel today's result is a really good result, because a lot of people just look at it and think, well, Harrow's league position is not amazing.

“We're at home, they haven’t got anything to play for, but I feel if they had that XI, I think they played two or three games on the bounce now with that XI, if they had had that for a lot of the season, I think they would be a lot higher than they are.

“Like I say, going forward, I feel they're a real threat.

“So I actually feel it's almost like a better performance and a better result than a lot of people will probably think, so I'm really pleased with the players.

“I've always said you need to be harsh when you need to be harsh, and critical and you need to be critical, but when they do do well, I think they deserve credit and today was one of those days.”

Whilst Poole have flittered between a three-man defence and back four throughout the season based on available personnel, Dolphins went for the best of both worlds by deploying two strikers up top in the form of Will Fletcher and Lee, whilst using just the four defenders.

Killick went on to credit the partnership of Moore and Rose for their part in the eventual result.

“To play that way, particularly with them (Harrow) having a formation they did with three centrally and sometimes four, sometimes they almost narrowed off and had a diamond in there.

“So to play that formation, your central midfielder have to be very, very athletic and very industrious.

“Dec (Rose) and Corby (Moore) are ideal for that role because of their physicality and the way they can get around the pitch.

“I think they deserve an awful lot of credit, really, and probably in a way the most credit because, as I say, I felt those two might have gone unseen but I felt the role that those two played probably earned us the result in a lot of aspects.”
