KIEFFER Moore is still "a couple of weeks away" from returning to fitness, revealed boss Scott Parker.

Striker Moore has made just one appearance for Cherries since joining from Cardiff City for a reported £3.5million on January transfer deadline day.

The 29-year-old came off the bench late on for his debut during a 3-1 win over Birmingham City on February 9, when he suffered a broken foot after landing awkwardly.

Moore was initially set to miss two months of action, after undergoing surgery.

Asked for an update on Moore on March 17, Parker said: "He’s out the boot now. It’s probably an eight-week injury and he’s five weeks (in) I think, as of Monday.

"So we’re probably three to three-and-a-half weeks away hopefully from seeing him."

However, with that timeframe now passed, Moore remains unavailable with Cherries hosting Middlesbrough tomorrow (3pm).

Quizzed today on if he hoped Moore could still feature this season, Parker told the Daily Echo: "We’re hoping he can play this season.

"It was probably a 10-week injury and I think we’re at eight weeks.

"We’re pushing, Kieffer’s pushing, we’re all pushing.

"At the same time, don’t want to take huge chances. Want to make sure he’s right really.

"Hopefully in the next 10 days or a couple of weeks, hopefully he’ll be available and we can see him."
