BRILLIANT Bashley sealed major honours after claiming the ECB Indoor National Club Championship at Lord’s.

The New Forest outfit had earned their right to feature at the home of cricket on Finals Day for the six-a-side competition.

Having won the toss and elected to bowl first against Flitwick in the semi-final, the Southern Premier outfit restricted the Bedfordshire side to 121 for four from their 12 overs.

And skipper Michael Porter (25*), keeper-batsman Tom Jacques (26*) and Dan Goodey (30*) all retired not out as Bash reached their target with just less than three overs to spare.

That set up a national final against Uxbridge-based Ickenham.

With Bash again bowling first, Goodey returned impressive figures of two for 17 as Ickenham were bowled out for a meagre 93 – which included three run-outs.

Bashley made hard work of the chase, losing five wickets in the process, but last man Sam Crisp’s six not out saw them over the line for national honours.
