POOLE Pirates duo Danny King and Richard Lawson have taken podium spots as they gear up for the new speedway season.
The pair have been in action at testimonial events over the past few days.
Pirates captain King placed second in the Josh Auty testimonial in Scunthorpe, finishing runner-up to Ryan Douglas.
Tero Aarnio and Charles Wright completed the top four at the Eddie Wright Raceway.
Auty is Scorpions' all-time record points scorer.
Lawson then finished third at the Lewis Kerr testimonial meeting at King's Lynn.
Pirates' new recruit Lawson, who also rides for King's Lynn, came third in the individual final, behind Sam Masters and Ryan Douglas.
Former Pirates star Nicolai Klindt ended fourth.
Speedway returns to Wimborne Road next week, with Bjarne Pedersen's farewell meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 30 as Pirates face Peterborough Panthers in a challenge match (7.30pm).
