SCOTT Parker says the form of Lewis Cook has put him in a "brilliant position" as he ponders his team selection for the weekend.

Cook was voted as sponsors' man-of-the-match during Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Peterborough United at Vitality Stadium.

Parker has been full of praise for the England international in recent weeks, for his performances in the absence of suspended Jefferson Lerma in the heart of Cherries' midfield.

Cook has started each of Cherries' past four fixtures while Lerma served his ban.

The Colombian will be available again on Saturday, when Derby County come to town.

Asked if the form of Cook gives him a tough decision on who to select in midfield against the Rams, boss Parker said: "It’s a brilliant position for me to be in now and I think you’re right, Lewis Cook in the last three games, I think he’s been exceptional.

"I loved every bit of him.

"He’s been a driving force, has been top. Full credit to him really.

"I think he’s growing. He’s becoming stronger. I’m really pleased with him."

Cherries will however be without Philip Billing on Saturday, as he starts a two-game ban having collected his 10th booking of the season against Posh.
