YOUNGSTER Brennan Camp revealed being at the club for Cherries’ rise from League Two to the Premier League “has been good for me” after completing his loan move to Eastleigh.

The 21-year-old right-back will now spend time back in the National League, following a successful loan with Weymouth last season, at the Hampshire-based Spitfires.

He could make his Eastleigh debut as early as tomorrow, when they face Southend United at the Silverlake Stadium.

Asked about his experience at Cherries, he said: “I’ve been there since I was seven so I have seen the club come from League Two up to the Premier League so to be in and around it all those years has been good for me.

“The loan experiences in the past two or three years have really put me in good stead to kick on now, the last part of the season now for Eastleigh hopefully I can help the team finish as high as we can.

“I was a bit gutted last year without the fans, especially this season around the National League there’s been crowds every game at every ground.

“To experience that will be good for me, hopefully the fans will take to me. I’m a hard tackling defender but I like to get forward from right-back as well so hopefully it all goes well.”

After a day of training with his new teammates, Camp added: “I settled in quite quickly, they’re all nice lads.

“The quality in training was good, obviously only a light one today because of the game tomorrow night so I’m just looking forward to getting out there tomorrow night and hopefully winning the match.

“It should be a good game, Southend came down last year from League Two so it should be a good test. I’m really looking forward to getting out there again, getting the three points.

“That’s what I love, being competitive.”
