CHERRIES are focusing on things one game at a time according to Siriki Dembele – with the Ivorian-born winger stating that “you can only deal with what’s in front of you.”

Dembele popped up with a vital goal in the Championship promotion race, with his winner capping off a comeback away at Bloomfield Road last weekend.

Despite being on the high of a late winner in that 2-1 defeat of Blackpool, Dembele kept a cool head – and a focus on Cherries’ upcoming match with Nottingham Forest.

After back-to-back wins in the span of four days, some might have started to get carried away, but the deadline day signing revealed his concentration of what was immediately ahead of Cherries.

Dembele told the Daily Echo: “We take it each game at a time.

“I know everyone says that, but you can only deal with what's in front of you.

“Blackpool was what was in front of us. We've dealt with that and we're happy, we enjoy (the win).

“We don't think about Friday yet because it's not here yet.

“But when it does come, we'll be full of focus and we'll go again.”

The 25-year-old certainly knows a thing or two about promotion, after helping former side Peteborough into the Championship last campaign.

Cherries and Dembele will be hoping he again proves to be a lucky charm in terms of achieving promotion this season.
